Master of Arts in Theological Studies (MATS)

36 Credits - 2 years

The MATS degree is designed to prepare graduates for Christian leadership and ministry in such areas as: pastoral ministry (ordained or non-ordained), para-church ministry, church planting, urban mission endeavors, global missions, lay counseling and care ministries, children and youth ministry, and marketplace vocations. Additionally, students with an MATS are prepared to pursue further theological research and writing.

The program combines in-person and online classes and includes two years of one-on-one mentoring.

Classroom Coursework: 25 credits

Mentoring: 8 credits

Capstone Thesis: 3 credits

Program length: 2 years

Full-time Annual Tuition: $2,860/yr for 2 years (2024-25 rate. Does not include books or software)

Learning modality: first year in-person; subsequent learning can be either online or hybrid
